Southwest Services for the Deaf Inc. was established in Albuquerque, New Mexico in the spring of 1999 as a response to the lack of mental health services for the deaf and hard of hearing. and a choice of mental health practitioners for the Deaf in the state.

Mental Health Services
We provide direct mental health services in most environments, whether inpatient or outpatient.. Highly trained, highly skilled, American Sign Language proficient professionals will develop the right treatment based on respect and understanding of the individual, family, or group. Our knowledge and understanding of the needs and issues facing the Deaf community provides a strong base for our professional and caring evaluation, assessment, and treatment.

Promoting Education and Networking:

Southwest Services for the Deaf extends beyond Albuquerque, New Mexico by providing workshops, conferences and seminars on mental health issues, Deaf culture, and discipline. We provide information to schools, organizations, and other interested parties. It is also our intent to expand this web site into a comprehensive source for Deaf mental health resources. We are committed to providing the latest, most accurate, and most useful information for both the Deaf community and community at large.
